THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PISTON COMPRESSOR THAT CAN BE USED IN HEAT PUMPS REQUIRES THAT SUCTION AND DISCHARGE VALVES MEET THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATIONS: A HIGH COP FOR THE COMPRESSOR, A LONG LIFETIME, A STEADY DYNAMIC BEHAVIOUR UNDER THE DIFFERENT OPERATING CONDITIONS, A LOW SOUND INTENSITY. THE PROBLEM WAS STUDIED BY THE CALCULATION OF LEAF-TYPE VALVES.
