Direct measurements of magnetocaloric parameters.

Author(s) : ROSCA M., ZAWILSKI B., PLAINDOUX P., et al.

Summary

Magnetocaloric effect consists in temperature variation of a material which undergoes a magnetic field variation. This effect can be deduced from some magnetic and calorific measurements such as magnetization and heat capacity. However, there is no better way than a direct measurement of the temperature variation with magnetic field variation in quasi-adiabatic conditions. A relatively simple and accurate apparatus is described and some results are presented.
