Summary

In this paper, research has been made on the heat effect of this de-icing magnetic material. These bar-shaped compounds with size of diameter 16 × 130 mm were prepared in the ZG vacuum induction furnace. After the heat treatment at 1100 K for 3 days and quenched in the ice water, single cubic NaZn13-type structure (1:13) were obtained. Differential scanning calorimetry measurement shows that the Curie temperature of this compound is TC= 284.98 K, which is just above the freezing point and is more suitable for de-icing. The heat effect of the compound around 273 K was measured with a self-made device under different magnetic fields (H= 4750.9, 4257.0, 3563.2, 2969.3 A/m). Results show that the compound is a potential candidate for de-icing.
