Summary

In 1986, the authors discovered new materials with superconducting properties above what was until then considered as being the temperature limit. Many scientists have since then attempted to determine the theoretical basis underlying the behaviour of these materials. This article was published in a 1988 issue of "La Recherche" (see IIR Bulletin, ref. 1989-0429).
