Type of article: Article

Summary

THE AUTHOR PRESENTS THE ADVANTAGES OF HAY AERATION OVER FIELD DRYING: EARLIER HARVESTS AND THE POSSIBILITY OF CUTTING WHEN THE HAY IS OF HIGHER QUALITY. HE CONCENTRATES ON ONE OF THE CURRENT AERATION PROCESSES, THE HEAT-PUMP DEHUMIDIFIER: THE DRAWN-IN EXTERIOR AIR FIRST FLOWS THROUGH A COOLER ; THE COOLING PROCESS CONDENSES THE WATER VAPOUR IN THE AIR ; THE DRIED AIR IS THEN HEATED BACK UP BY A CONDENSER AND OO. THE MAIN ADVANTAGE OF THIS PROCESS IS A SHORTER DRYING TIME AND ITS INDEPENDENCE FROM THE WEATHER. THE AUTHOR ALSO DESCRIBES BRIEFLY THE ADVANTAGES FOR MAIZE DRYING.
