Summary
A dynamic model of a variable frequency refrigeration system with a suction-line heat exchanger is developed. Dynamic responses to step changes in operational speed of compressor and thermostatic expansion valve opening are studied and compared with those of the system without suction-line heat exchanger. The steady-state performance of the system is analysed and a graphically relationship between cooling capacity, operational frequency, valve opening and suction vapour superheat is determined.
