Research and application of the mini-tube heat exchanger in a room air conditioner.

Author(s) : LUO S., ZHANG T., YANG R., et al.

Summary

How to improve heat transfer efficiency and reduce material cost in the air-conditioner industry: a hot research topic. The main trend to solve the key issues is miniaturizing the outer diameter of precision inner groove copper tube used in heat exchangers. The situation of the mini-tube heat exchanger used in room air conditioners, which play an important role in heat transfer enhancement, reducing cost and meeting the demand for new refrigerants with higher working pressures, is presented in this paper. The mini-tube heat exchanger has higher efficiency, which has been confirmed by experiments and application of F5 inner groove copper tube heat exchangers in window air conditioners and split-type ones. Furthermore, some advice about the application of mini-tube heat exchangers has also been presented.
