Program control of a refrigerating machine.

Author(s) : NASTRAN V.

Summary

The paper discusses the control of a refrigerating machine by means of theoretical simulation of the refrigerating process. The machine cools down water in the reservoir according to an optional mathematical given curve. The control device is calculating the necessary number of compressor revolutions with regard to wanted refrigerating capacity given by the refrigerating curve and sending via I/O card, the corresponding electrical signal to a frequency converter which rotates the compressor at the required rotational speed. Practical results of software control of laboratory's refrigeration machine are given. In the comparison with classical control methods the authors' solution is cheaper, because expensive hardware is replaced with cheap software.
