Type of article: Article
Summary
Canada has the potential to be an excellent market for ground and water-source heat pumps (known as earth energy heat pumps). The climatic conditions are ideal, with the winters being too cold for air-source heat pumps, but with a substantial cooling demand in the summer months. Furthermore, the drive to save energy costs has led to many advancements in housing design. The article looks at an example of the latest technology and reports on a demonstration project under the Advanced Houses Programme.
