Economic analysis of cold storing potatoes in Meerut district.

Summary
A study was conducted in 1991 in Meerut district, Uttar Pradesh, India, to investigate the pattern of cold storage capacity utilization and the economic viability of cold storage for potatoes. A total of 97 potato growers were interviewed. Cold storage was found to be economically viable at the tariff rates fixed by the government, and farmers made a net profit of 12 Rupees per quintal through cold storage of potatoes.
