Effect of condensation on the performance of exchangers used in air cooling.

Author(s) : GAUTIER D.

Summary

The paper presents the aerothermal performances of exchangers used in the cooling of dry or humid air. The thermal results obtained experimentally have made it possible to establish a new correlation between the characteristics of mixed flow, convection, and mass transfer type exchangers, and the characteristics of dry air flow, convection only type exchangers. It also describes the variation of the convection exchange coefficient versus the degree of condensation as well as the behaviour of the pressure drop coefficients in the presence of condensation water.
