Summary

Egg yolk phosphatidyle choline (EPC) can repair erythrocyte membrane damaged during the process of freeze-drying. The effects of EPC concentration, vesicle size and incubation time on the recovery of freeze-dried red blood cells were investigated in this study. The experimental results show that EPC would increase the recovery rate of freeze-dried red blood cells. When the EPC vesicle was 0.8 micrometer, and the concentration was 0.88 m and the incubation time was 15 min, the RBC recovery rate reached (59.7 plus or minus 4.8)%.
