Summary

Plum fruits treated with gibberellic acid (10, 25 and 50 ppm), Cycocel [chlormequat] (500, 1000 and 1500 ppm), CaCl2 (2, 4 and 6%) and wax emulsion (3, 6 and 9%) were stored at 0-3.3 °C at 85-90 relative humidity for 10, 20, 30 and 40 days. Fruit palatability (taste, colour and appearance), physiological loss in weight and fruit firmness were evaluated. Fruit quality characteristics (acidity, total sugars, phenols and soluble solids, and ascorbic acid) were recorded. Fruit treated with 6% CaCl2 seem to have the best palatability. Results in terms of total soluble solids, sugar content, colour, ascorbic acid content are developed.
