Summary
P. vulgaris cv. Dilong seeds were purchased from a market in China. The effect of heat treatment (40, 45 and 48 °C for 10, 30 and 60 minutes, respectively) on the development of chilling injury and other physiological responses was investigated. The best heat treatments to prevent russeting and watery pitting of seeds were 40 °C for 60 minutes and 45 °C for 10 minutes.
