Effect of silver coating on the superconducting and mechanical properties of solution-spun YBCO(x) filament.

Summary
The silver coating lowers the optimum sintering and partial melting temperatures and improves mechanical properties without degrading superconducting properties. The silver coating results in enhancement of flux pinning in the sintered filament and improvement of weak links in the partially melted filament at 77 K.
