Summary

THE VIABILITY OF L-FIBROBLASTS EXPOSED TO 277 OR 293 K (4 OR 20 DEG C) FOR 1-5 DAYS WAS STUDIED IN 20 DIFFERENTLIQUIDS. THE PURPOSE WAS TO APPRECIATE, BY A SCREENING TEST, THE QUALITY OF SOLUTIONS FOR THE PERFUSION OF KIDNEYS TO BE TRANSPLANTED. THE SAME RESULTS WERE OBTAINED WITH MEM + 5% BS, BS AND ROSS' SOLUTION AT 277 K. AT 293 K THE BEST RESULTS WERE OBTAINED WITH MEM + 5% BS AND BEM. ROSS' AND EUROCOLLINS' SOLUTIONS ARE ALSO ACCEPTABLE AND GIVE THE BEST RESULTS AMONGST PERFUSION SOLUTIONS.
