EFFECT OF THAWING REGIMES ON THE REANIMATION OF RAM SPERMATOZOA.

Summary

THE AIM OF THIS STUDY WAS TO INVESTIGATE THE INFLUENCE OF DIFFERENT METHODS OF THAWING OF GRANULATED SEMEN ON THE SURVIVAL, MOTILITY AND STRUCTURAL CHARACTERISTICS OF RAM SPERMATOZOA EITHER IN THE PRESENCE OR IN THE ABSENCE OF THAWING MEDIUM. THE LATTER VARIANT WAS INCLUDED SINCE THERE ARE DATA WHICH SHOW THAT THE PROBABILITY OF SUCCESSFUL CONCEPTION BECOMES HIGHER WHEN THE EWES ARE INSEMINATED WITH CONCENTRATED DOSES OF THAWED SEMEN. THE BETTER RESULTS OBTAINED BY USING THAWING MEDIUM SHOWED THAT THE METHOD OF PRODUCING THE SMALLEST VOLUME OF INSEMINATION DOSE ON THE BASIS OF REMOVAL OF THE THAWING MEDIUM IS NOT SUITABLE FOR ARTIFICIAL INSEMIAIN .
