Efficient operation of refrigerating plants: energy conservation, heat recovery, waste heat utilisation.

Effizienter Betrieb von Kälteanlagen: Energieeinsparung, Wärmerückgewinnung, Abwärmenutzung.

Author(s) : KORN D.

Type of monograph: Book

Summary

About 14% of the electricity consumed in Germany is attributable to refrigeration. Almost half of this energy is used by commercial and industrial refrigeration equipment (including processing and air conditioning). At least 30% of the energy consumption can be saved by modernizing existing or old refrigerating plants.
Extract from the table of contents: speed ??control for demand-dependent control of compressors and condenser-fans; benefits of thermostatic expansion valves compared to electronic expansion valves; heat recovery in commercial and industrial refrigeration systems; energetic effects of pollution from ammonia refrigeration systems by foreign gases and water; losses due to contamination of heat exchangers, how to recognize them and how to eliminate them.
