Summary

AN EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF LEAD/TIN SOLDERS AND SPLICES HAS BEEN MADE FOR THE COIL CONVERSION OF THE FERMILAB TOHOKU BUBBLE CHAMBER MAGNET. THE ELECTRICAL RESISTIVITIES OF VARIOUS LEAD/TIN SOLDERS WERE MEASURED AT 4.2 K AS A FUNCTION OF MAGNETIC FIELD. CORRELATIONS FOR THE MAGNETORESISTIVITY OF THE SOLDERS HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED. ELECTRICAL MEASUREMENTS ON THE SPLICES DETERMINED THEIR RESISTANCE AND VOLTAGE DISTRIBUTION. GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR SPLICE PREPARATION ARE GIVEN.
