Summary
The investigation showed that an average sized supermarket can annually save 27,000 kilowatthour. The average capital investment gives a simple payback period of 1.1 years. The result is, of course, different for each supermarket but the fact is that all supermarkets included in the investigation reduced their energy consumption considerably, and cost effectively.
