Summary

When using recycling in indoor air systems, cleaning technologies must be adopted in order to effectively remove the main contaminants suspended in the air. This article includes remarks on several experiments carried out on a plant equipped with a sectional electrostatic filter. Evidence shows that the filter is effective also against particles with a diameter measuring less than 1 µm and that, given the operational conditions under investigation, electrostatic filtering technologies seem perfectly able to reduce or completely abolish live bacteria.
