Summary

ASSUMING THE NEED OF CONDITIONING A GIVEN BUILDING, IT HAS BEEN EVALUATED THE CONVENIENCY OF INSTALLING AN AIR TO WATER REVERSE CYCLE HEAT PUMP IN ORDER TO USE THE HOT WATER PRODUCED IN WINTER TIME. TWO ITALIAN PLACES HAVE BEEN EXAMINED: ONE IN THE NORTH AND ONE IN THE SOUTH. IT HAS BEEN CONSIDERED FOR EACH OF THEM THE POSSIBILITY OF INTEGRATING OR REPLACING THE TRADITIONAL GAS OIL FIRED BOILER WITH THE HEAT PUMP. THE ANALYSIS REFERS TO THE PRICES OF THE ENERGY SUPPLIES PRESENTLY PAID IN ITALY. THE MAJOR INITIAL COST OF THE HEAT PUMP INSTALLATION HAS BEEN RELATED TO ITS ANNUAL WORKING COST SAVING.
