Summary

AN AMBIENT AIR/WATER HEAT PUMP DELIVERS THERMAL ENERGY TO 86 FLATS IN FIVE HOUSES. DOWN TO AN AMBIENT TEMPERATURE OF 271 K THE HEAT PUMP ALONE MANAGES TO HEAT THE HOUSES AND TO SUPPLY THEM WITH HOT WATER. AT LOWER TEMPERATURES THE HEAT PUMP STOPS AND THE OIL BOILERS TAKE OVER. DURING THE FIRST YEAR OF OPERATION DIFFERENT ACTIONS WERE TAKEN, IN ORDER TO OPTIMIZE THE RUNNING. RESULTS FROM THE LAST TWO YEARS OF OPERATION SHOW THAT THE HEAT PUMP DELIVERS 2/3 OF THE TOTAL HEAT DEMAND AT A TOTAL COP OF ABOUT 2. THE YEARLY OIL REDUCTION IS ROUGHLY 1.5 M3/FLAT.
