ENERGY AND REFRIGERATION.

Author(s) : LORENTZEN G.

Summary

REFRIGERATION CAN CONTRIBUTE TOWARDS SOLVING THE DIFFICULT PROBLEM OF WORLD ENERGY IN A NUMBER OF WAYS. VERY LOW HELIUM TEMPERATURES MAY HELP SOLVING CONFINEMENT PROBLEMS FOR FUSION REACTORS AND MAGNETOHYDRODYNAMIC GENERATORS. TEMPERATURES NOT SO LOW PROVIDE THE RATIONAL TRANSPORT OF LIQUEFIED GASES FROM REMOTE SOURCES. THE APPLICATION OF REFRIGERATION PROCESSES TO TEMPERATURES HIGHER THAN THE AMBIENT WITH HEAT PUMPS SUGGESTS HUGE ENERGY SAVINGS FOR THE HEATING OF DWELLINGS AND FOR VARIOUS HEATING PROCESSES.
