Summary

AT PRESENT, THE SELECTION OF A COOLING TOWER AIMS TO OBTAIN THE LOWEST POSSIBLE WATER TEMPERATURE WITH A MAXIMUM AIR AND WET BULB TEMPERATURE. CONSIDERING THE INCREASE IN ENERGY PRICES, THIS PRINCIPLE SHOULD BE REVISED. THE PAPER SHOWS IT IS POSSIBLE TO IMPROVE THE EFFICIENCY OF A COOLING TOWER WITH A SUITABLE SELECTION OF WATER TEMPERATURE AND TOWER TYPE ACCORDING TO CLIMATIC CONDITIONS.
