Summary
The transport refrigeration industry needs standards to rate fuel consumption. In this article initially presented as a paper during the 22nd International Congress of Refrigeration held in Beijing, China, on August 21-26, 2007, a model is presented to assess fuel consumption in a manner consistent with the varied customer uses of the equipment. In addition, energy reduction concepts are discussed. The results of this study will also be used to propose a labelling scheme in Europe.
