Summary
As a consequence of environmental damage, it is very important to reduce the energy consumption in buildings. But the installations must assure the internal air quality conditions, supplying higher ventilation air flows. But a rise of the air flow leads to an rise on energy consumption in installations, if don't use devices that reduce the consumption. A solution is to improve the energy efficiency of the systems, by means of energy recovery systems or low-consumption energetic processes. The energetic efficiency related to cooling capacity by means of evaporative cooling systems is historically known and it can be used as energy recovery equipments in all-air air-conditioning systems. This work presents the results of a ceramic evaporative cooler, used as an energy recuperator, which depending on the characteristics of the external air, carries out the required process of heating, cooling, humidification and dehumidification, decreasing the energetic consumption to improve the psychrometric conditions of the renewal air.
