Summary

SOME FOCAL POINTS IN THE SEARCH FOR ENERGY SAVING IN COMPRESSION REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS ARE REVIEWED. THIS INCLUDES AN ANALYSIS OF THE STEADY STATE BEHAVIOUR FOR IMPROVING DESIGN AND AN ANALYSIS OF THE DYNAMIC BEHAVIOUR FOR IMPROVING OPERATING CONDITIONS, EG WITH CAPACITY CONTROL. A PROPOSAL IS MADE FOR THE USE OF THE EXERGY CONCEPT IN ORDER TO REVEAL LOCAL IRREVERSIBILITIES IN THE PLANT.
