Summary

RESULTS OF A COMPARISON BETWEEN VARIOUS TYPES OF REFRIGERATING PLANT OPERATING WITH R22: SINGLE-STAGE AND TWO-STAGE PLANT (COMPOUND OR WITH A BOOSTER) WITH PARTIAL INJECTION AT INTERMEDIATE PRESSURE. THE TEMPERATURE RANGE CONSIDERED WAS FROM 233 TO 253 K (-40 TO -20 DEG C) FOR EVAPORATION AND FROM 298 TO 313 K (25 TO 40 DEG C) FOR CONDENSATION. THE AUTHORS GIVE THE REFRIGERATION CAPACITY, POWER CONSUMPTION AND EFFICIENCY FOR THE VARIOUS TYPES OF PLANT AND TEMPERATURES CONSIDERED ; THEY ALSO INDICATE THE ANNUAL ENERGY EXPENSES IN FUNCTION OF INTEREST RATE (NOW VERY HIGH IN PORTUGAL) AND ANNUAL RATE OF INCREASE OF POWER COSTS (ALSO VERY HIGH).
