Energy utilization efficiency evaluation index for air distribution in air-conditioned rooms.

Summary
The energy consumption of air-conditioning systems occupies a considerable proportion in building energy consumption. However, not enough attention has been paid to the influence on energy saving of air distribution. To design a more energy saving air distribution, a new index for the energy utilization evaluation of air distribution is proposed in this paper, which is called energy consumption efficiency. It presents the proportion of the energy used by the occupied zone and the energy provided by the air conditioning for the whole room. Comparing the new index with the traditional index in two simulation cases, it is found that the new evaluation index is more reasonable.
