Summary
Film condensation heat transfer of natural gas along V-longitudinal groove tube is investigated. A set of experimental apparatus was built to observe performance of laminar film condensation of pure methane vapour, a main component of natural gas. Experiment was carried out by using two kinds of heat transfer surface, one is a tube of smooth surface and the other of V-longitudinal groove tube. The heat transfer data of smooth tube correlate quite well with Nusselt's solution and the condensation heat transfer coefficient of V-longitudinal groove tube is 3 to 8 times greater than that of the smooth surface.
