Summary

METHODS FOR ENHANCEMENT OF HEAT TRANSFER CHARACTERISTICS OF PLATE FINNED COIL USED FOR AIR CONDITIONERS. THE RESULTS ARE SUMMARIZED AS FOLLOWS: 1. BY INCREASING THE TUBE ARRANGEMENT DENSITY, ONE CAN INCREASE THE OUTSIDE TUBE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT WITHOUT INCREASING AIR FLOW PRESSURE DROP. 2. THE OPTIMUM TUBE ARRANGEMENT IS FOUND BY THIS RESEARCH. 3. BY MEANS OF SUITABLE FIN SURFACE TREATMENT, THE CONTACT ANGLE OF WATER DROPLETS CONDENSED ON THE FIN SURFACE IS DECREASED TO 0 DEG, SO THAT THE AIR FLOW PRESSURE DROP OF A WET FIN SURFACE IS DECREASED.
