Summary

THE FORMATION OF FROST IN HEAT EXCHANGER COILS HAS AN ADVERSE EFFECT ON THE OVERALL PERFORMANCE OF THE SYSTEM. THE PAPER EXAMINES THE EFFECTS OF FROST FORMATION ON THE PERFORMANCE OF A TRIANGULAR SPINE FIN WITH A VARYING CROSS-SECTION. NON-DIMENSIONAL PLOTS ARE PRESENTED WHICH COULD FORM THE BASIS OF A USEFUL DESIGN TOOL, IF APPLIED TO OTHER FIN GEOMETRIES.
