Enthalpy wheels for energy recovery.
Author(s) : CROWTHER H.
Type of article: Article
Summary
Using an air-to-air energy-recovery device, such as an enthalpy wheel, is one method proven to reduce energy consumption and peak loads in buildings with high ventilation requirements. A life-cycle analysis is the best way to determine if an enthalpy wheel or other device will provide the energy savings necessary to cover the first and operating costs of the equipment. Principles, operation and performances of enthalpy wheels are discussed.
