Estimation of surface temperature distributions of solid objects subject to refrigeration process.

Author(s) : DINCER I., DOST S.

Summary

Unsteady-state heat transfer either with or without internal heat generation occurs during the cooling of solid objects, during which the inside temperature in the solid object reaches the medium temperature. The analysis of heat transfer occurring in such objects is essential for accurate predictions of optimum cooling requirements, leading to energy saving. Such analytical models were presented and verified with experimental temperature data for slab, cylindrical and spherical products. Obtained center and surface temperature distributions are plotted for comparison.
