ETFE foil cushions: effects on internal environmental performance.

Summary

ETFE (Ethylenetetrafluoroethylene) foil cushions provide an environmentally beneficial alternative to glass in certain construction types. Their ability to moderate the internal environment has been assessed and is comparable to that of double glazing. The quality of light provided has proved particularly successful in leisure and hospital buildings and these buildings are presented as case studies. The paper sets out the results from the study and provides a comprehensive argument for the use of ETFE foil in buildings in the future.
