Summary

This yearbook is a reference manual providing information on the many European-Union-funded programmes concerning almost all economic and social spheres. Funding is provided not only for actions within the 15 European-Union countries but also for projects involving co-operation with third-party countries. This new edition contains an inventory of these aid programmes and presents many new ones, particularly the 5th Framework Research and Development Programme. This survey is presented on a per-geographical-region or theme basis and provides a description of the objectives of each programme or action, measures financed, conditions to be fulfilled, funds available, regulatory texts and contact names and addresses enabling files or full information to be obtained.
