Summary

The author presents aspects of LPG commerce all over the world in the near future, based on results of a recent investigation carried out by the consultant and brokerage group POTEN & PARTNERS (New York, London). The author explains successively: supply characteristics (23 million tons in 1990 of which 85% for the Middle East), foreseeable evolution of supply by 2000 (28 million tons in 2000) and worldwide distribution, outlook and worldwide distribution of demand and resulting export capacities of each region, consumption structure and growth areas. Then, the author examines in particular the situation in Europe, the main factors for its supply, outlook for demand, distribution by sector and by country in Western and Eastern Europe. J.R.
