Evaluating the role of insulation in building energy conservation.
Author(s) : ANSEMS R. J.
Type of article: Article
Summary
Several different and novel approaches are applied to the problem of determining optimum levels of thermal insulation for use in Australian buildings. These are: energy savings; reductions in capital equipment cost; reductions in greenhouse gas emissions; economic analysis. Worked examples are presented for each case and comparisons are drawn with current building standards, which are shown to be conservative.
