Summary
The energy requirement per unit area of a polystyrene thermal insulation is evaluated as a function of the insulator thickness. Then, the energy-payback time of the insulation and the net energy saving after ten years are evaluated, for different insulator thicknesses, for a reference flat, supposed as located in the chief town of every Italian region.
