Summary
THE AUTHOR PRESENTS EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS AND A THEORETICAL MODEL ON THE LEVEL OF THE LIQUID-VAPOUR MIXTURE AS A FUNCTION OF POWER THROUGHPUT IN A CLOSED TWO-PHASE THERMOSIPHON, IN ORDER TO ESTIMATE THE LIQUID INVENTORY. THE LEVEL OF THE LIQUID-VAPOUR MIXTURE DEPENDS ON THE AVERAGE DENSITY OF THE MIXTURE. THUS, HE FIRST CORRELATES THE MIXTURE DENSITY TO THE VOLU-METRIC FLUX OF VAPOUR, AND THEN HE EVALUATES THE DENSITY AVER-AGED OVER ALL THE VOLUME FILLED BY THE MIXTURE ; FINALLY, AN ANALYTICAL CORRELATION BETWEEN THE LEVEL OF THE LIQUID-VAPOUR MIXTURES, THE POWER THROUGHPUT AND THE LIQUID INVENTORY IS DERIVED. EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS ARE IN GOOD AGREEMENT WITH THE PROPOSED CORRELATION.
