Summary
This paper presents a comparative evaluation of the thermodynamic cycles efficiency of vapour-compression refrigerating machines and heat pumps, when both the pure fluid and zeotrope mixtures are used as a refrigerant. The comparison is carried out with the help of dimensionless coefficients depending upon thermodynamic properties of working substances and temperatures. The coefficients can be calculated on the diagrams of parameters of state of working substances. The technique allows to determine the expected characteristics of the machine, explain the experimental data, outline the ways of improvement of characteristics and carry out the search of working substances with the predetermined thermodynamic properties.
