Summary
In the paper presented have been thermodynamic foundations of evaporative cooling. There have been discussed four ways of realization of such process, i.e. by direct cooling, indirect cooling, hybrid method (direct/indirect) and the mixed method, which combines evaporative cooling with traditional compressor-based systems. There have been also presented considerations related to demand for water for specific evaporative systems as well as the ecological consequences of application of such systems have been pointed out proving the positive environmental effects stemming from use of these systems.
