Evaporative cooling: below the ambient wet-bulb temperature.

Author(s) : ROSENFELD S.

Type of article: Article, Case study

Summary

The cooling capability of evaporative cooling equipment depends primarily on the ambient air wet-bulb (WB) temperature. In the evaporative cooling process, the temperature of the cooled media leaving the evaporative cooling process is limited by the ambient air WB temperature. This article describes how the author overcame the problem in a project for the San Francisco Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
