Summary

THE AUTHORS RELATE TO THE APPLICATION OF NUMERICAL METHODS IN THE PREDICTION OF THE CONDITIONS OF FLOW IN AIR CONDITIONED ROOMS. EXAMPLES ARE GIVEN TO PROVE THAT THE MATHEMATICAL MODEL CAN BE APPLIED TO DESCRIBE TWO-DIMENSIONAL, STATIONARY, TURBULENT ROOM FLOWS. THE MATHEMATICAL SOLUTION UNDERLYING THE LAST EXAMPLE HAS BEEN BASED ON THE RESULTS OF A TEST MADE IN THE KARL-MARX-STADT TOWN HALL. THE CONDITION OF FLOW WAS CHECKED BY A NUMERICAL CALCULATION METHOD AND THE EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS WERE COMPARED WITH THOSE OBTAINED BY WAY OF CALCULATION.
