Summary

SPOT COOLING IS OFTEN A LOGICAL CHOICE IN INDUSTRIAL SITUATIONS WHERE HUMAN OPERATIVES ARE SCATTERED OVER A WIDE AREA BUT LOCAL AMBIENT CONDITIONS ARE UNACCEPTABLE. THE AUTHORS HAVE TAKEN AN EXISTING MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR THE DESIGN OF A VERTICAL AIR JET AND BUILT IT INTO AN INTERACTIVE MICROCOMPUTER PROGRAM. USING THIS A DESIGNER CAN CHOOSE OPTIMUM PARAMETERS FOR SPOT COOLING DESIGN BASED ON DRY BULB TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY OR WET BULB TEMPERATURE AT THE TARGET AREA. D.W.H.
