Summary
Coolers based on evaporating water are now developed as an indirect system. The cooling of the conditioned room is only based on sensible heat. Recent developments open up the possibility of using so-called 'cooled ventilating' in temperate climates like the Netherlands. Heat exchangers and housing are made of synthetic materials and are therefore not sensitive to corrosion. Compared with conventional air conditioning, up to 75% reductions in energy consumption can be achieved.
