Experiences of manufacturing refrigerated transport units in Finland.

Author(s) : HAKALA P. V. E.

Finland is the second northernmost country in the world, and its total surface area is 6th largest, but there are only 5.2 million inhabitants. The climate conditions can alter from 30-33 deg C in summer time to -35 deg C in winter time. National economy in this sparsely inhabited country is very much dependent on road haulage and the Russian transport traffic is increasing all the time. The paper describes the transport refrigeration units which are in use in Finland, with also heating devices, when outside temperature is too low.
