Experimental characteristics of a small-scale gas hydrate cool storage apparatus.

Author(s) : XIE Y., LIU D., LIU N., et al.

Summary

Some experimental studies were done to investigate the cool storage characteristics of a small-scale gas hydrate cool storage apparatus, the cooling capacity were calculated, the growth rate, the HPF and the overall heat transfer coefficient of the cooling process under different heat exchangers, different SDS concentrations, different crystallization enhancement methods were calculated. It was found that the cooling capacity of a fin enhanced heat exchanger was larger than that of an ordinary heat exchanger, and the cooling capacity would be increased if 0.04% SDS was added into the water. Fore more, it was found that the crystallization enhancement for 5 minutes was the best method of crystallization enhancement in the actual cool storage process.
