Regenerative air-conditioning system with natural refrigerant clathrates.

Author(s) : MATSUO M., FUNAKURA M., YOSHIDA Y., et al.

Summary

The authors investigated the feasibility of a regenerative air-conditioning system that stores cool energy by means of clathrates. They focused on the natural refrigerants such as propane, isobutane, carbon dioxide and dimethyl ether (DME), which can be used as the refrigerant and which form clathrates. They studied their physical properties and considered the potential for the use as a refrigerant in regenerative air-conditioning systems using a direct-contact refrigeration cycle and as a clathrate material for cool storage.
